Our 1 Acre – One Vege Patch at a Time

About Us

We’re just an average couple with two daughters, who have moved form the inner Sydney suburb of St Peters to a rural 1 acre block in the NSW town of Yass.

Why the move? Well, we have always talked about it then we just decided that the inner city was changing and not to our liking (too many yuppies moving in and destroying the atmosphere), so we started looking for a town we liked and that we could survive in (as both of us are office workers) and Yass has Canberra near by.

We were traveling to Yass for a number of years prior to the move as my dad occasionally went into respite care here, and everytime we came back we thought “yes we can make a go of it in Yass”. So in Sept 2007 we moved in (well not exactly). My partner and daughters are here, but I am in Sydney Tues, wed, Thurs and working from Yass (remotely) Monday and Friday.

We plan to live a more environmentally aware life and reduce our carbon footprint and of course write about it.

Also a bit more about me is that I like bikes (of the non motorised form) I am VP of Bicycle NSW and Pres of BikeSydney (I will be handing that one over shortly), and bleieve most people drive too much.

Anyway I hope you like out blog One Green Acre
